Kick start

For those who might ask about it... yes, the Sym GTS 125 Evo comes with a "kick start", even if the manual said little about it :(

  1. Does this mean it's possible to start the scooter when the battery has run flat, e.g. after some cold weeks or so...

  2. Yep... that's correct.
Has I stated, this is my first ever bike, so when battery went dead I tried several times the kick start until finally I get it right... now it's very easy to start it up... it just a fast blow and it starts :)
I've been that way for a week or so, due to a problem in some part that I don't remember, and that was cover by guarantee...

  3. How does this work ? I've been kicking it for a while this morning but nothing helped.
My battery has run out. Very weird. The scooter started a few weeks ago after letting it freeze in the carport for 3 weeks.
I've been doing long rides this week and suddenly this morning the battery was dead... I only left the backseat open for 5 minutes.

  4. What did you have to do to get the kickstart working ?
My battery went dead and I've been kicking the kickstart like crazy (while holding the brake, with the keys in the good position & I made sure the red interrupter wasn't active)
But it's not helping met to get the sym started

  5. Sorry Tom, been very busy...
Let's see if I can explain it.

1- Put your foot flat onto the pedal.
2- Push forward/front (not down) in a steady quick movement

    Simple as that... regards

(I'll try to post a video soon...)

  7. Thanks. I also found a video on youtube and it worked. It's crucial to find some resistance on the kickstart before kicking it short & hard.
Gotta be gentle in the beginning and then a bit brutal.
I'm starting to get it why you called your scooter symone :)

  10. Wow, that's a pity :(
Try to put some oil on in to see if it folds out.
